worked all day and got NOWHERE

Wanted to fix 2 problems:

  1. models in 3ds format have wrong translation (ie not centered at origin)
  2. some objects in models when flipped don’t retain flipping

First tried to upgrade my 3ds “library” but turned out to be a red herring. Then tried to debug it … spent all day trying to fix problem #1, barking up many different trees but have gotten nowhere.

I’ll probably have to use md2 or md3 format for animated models.

For problem 2: found a clue in some code somewhere, but didn’t get around to trying it.

At least last night I finished the golem model & animated it, but looks like a dog’s breakfast in EUO due to both of the above problems.
